Itroduction from MacVincent Support Services

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself and MacVincent Suppport Serfvices.
We are a small husband and wife support provider,

I have 20 years experience within the mental health, Health, AOD and forensic space, the last 10 years have been in senior care coordination positions, predominantly in Southwest Sydney, Western Sydney, greater Sydney basin, and remotely throughout NSW, with extended knowledge of the service systems.

My wife has over 30 years experience within the Aged Care sector and has been involved in the NDIS space for the last 9 years.

We work in a client centred, collaborative and recovery orientated practice model of care.

Hi MacVincent, welcome to the platform :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s great to have you and your wife here. We hope you make connections and get a lot of value from the platform.

Sounds like between you and your wife, you’ve got an incredible amount of experience across a lot of different areas. The combination of mental health, aged care, and NDIS expertise you both makes you both sound like a bit of a power couple haha.

Given your experience, I’m sure a lot of people here could really benefit from your insights. Just a thought if you feel up to it (totally fine if you don’t) but a good way for participants to get to know you here is by writing an article in the “Helpful Articles” section here.

Maybe you could elaborate about how participants can better navigate mental health services within the NDIS. Or maybe you could offer insights on the intersection of aged care and NDIS services, especially for those transitioning between the two systems. Given your forensic and AOD experience, maybe a piece on supporting participants with complex needs or dual diagnoses could be incredibly valuable as well, particularly for those who might feel lost in the system.

Again, don’t feel obligated. I’m just spit balling ideas here, but it’s definitely a fantastic way to begin connecting with participants here and to use your knowledge to get a conversation started with them.

We had a couple of providers who have done a fantastic job doing this. More recently Lauren from LL care has written some really practical stuff that participants have connected with and gotten some great value from.

Anyway. I’ll cut myself off here haha. It’s a pleasure to have you here and we look forward to hearing more from you and seeing the impact you make here!

If you need anything. Don’t hesitate to reach out

Welcome to our group here at PNP MacVincent. Its a great place.

Hi Jake, Appologies for the late reply, very busy as per usual, I am tempted but in reality I would not have time to writer up an article, but thank you for the suggestion.
