Hi everyone,
I’m Mel, the founder of Beautiful Lights Support Services, an online platform dedicated to supporting people with disabilities, their carers, and professionals. Our mission is to brighten lives by offering flexible, accessible, and tailored support that helps individuals feel more confident and in control.
What Sparked My Journey?
The inspiration for Beautiful Lights came from my personal experiences as a mother of two autistic daughters. All three of us are autistic and have various conditions that impact our daily lives. Navigating the complexities of the NDIS, we found it challenging to connect with support workers who truly understood our unique needs. The standard, one-size-fits-all approach often left us feeling uncomfortable and disconnected.
Recognising a significant gap in empathetic, personalised, and accessible support services, I decided to create Beautiful Lights. Our goal is to provide a service that offers a variety of options to meet diverse needs, allowing clients to choose how we interact—be it through video calls, text, or other preferred methods. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, we aim to build connections and confidence, empowering individuals to shine in their own unique way.
What We Offer
We provide services focusing on independence, organisation, and confidence-building, including:
- Social Spark: Online sessions designed to enhance social skills, promote independence, and encourage community participation.
- Admin Ally: Assistance with everyday administrative tasks such as form-filling, budgeting, and resume writing.
- Business Buddy: Support for small businesses and entrepreneurs in setting up systems, understanding regulations, and maximising their potential.
Whether you’re navigating the NDIS or seeking private support, our services are designed to lighten the load and help you find your path forward.
Why I’m Here
I’m excited to join this community and connect with businesses and individuals who are passionate about making a difference. My goals here are to:
- Learn: Gain new perspectives and discover ways to enhance the support we offer.
- Collaborate: Partner with others to build stronger networks and develop better resources.
- Share: Share our experiences and insights to assist others navigating the often complex world of disability support and small business.
I look forward to connecting with you—whether to exchange ideas, collaborate, or explore ways to support each other.
Warm regards,
Mel
