New Provider in the Hunter area, I am Rachel!

Hi everyone,

I am Rachel and I work with the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Suicide Prevention Network. We have just released our new Connected to Care NDIS Service which is a registered service specialising in mental health. We are a small team and are wanting to reach our community to let them know that we are available to support them. I have experience with a range of mental health diagnoses and have done care coordination through our grant funded Connected to Care for the last two years. Looking for participants who could use our services, feel free to check out the page here and our website for more information. Thank you!

Hey Rachel

Welcome to the community! Your service sounds like a valuable resource, especially being that mental health issues are a big part of the NDIS. Small teams usually bring that extra level of care and understanding that can make a huge difference for participants dealing with complex mental health needs.

A suggestion I give to any providers who genuinely want to make a difference, connect with participants and build their reputations is to write helpful articles in our articles section. Writing about mental health/coping strategies would be a fantastic way for participants to get a feel for your services before engaging in them directly.

A lot of participants like to have the reassurance before they take the plunge with someone. Sometimes that reassurance comes from word of mouth referrals. They get reassurance from someone telling them that you’re a good provider. The other way to get that reassurance is through providing helpful information up front and then connecting with participants with any follow up questions they have. Your signature is there for everyone to see and it goes straight through to your listing. So if participants connect, its seamlessly easy to click through to your listing and get into direct contact.

I don’t take the time to write this spiel to every new provider like I used to, but being that you specialise in mental health, I know there’s many participants in our community that would find helpful information on this topic immensly helpful.

On an unrelated note. Lots of updates and upgrades are coming to the platform in coming months. We’re adding super useful features and changing the layuout of our platform here.

So dive in and connect and before long, we’ll have a lot more members here than we currently do.

Welcome to the group.

Mental health is such a huge part on what we all do so it is good to see more people with specialised skills in the industry.

Hi Jake,
Thanks for the tip! I was looking at Lauren’s articles already which were really useful. I will do my best to come up with some helpful articles to share!
