Hey everyone! The NDIS has been making waves lately with reforms kicking in since October 2024—like clearer rules on what funding covers and reassessments affecting around 1,200 participants weekly (mostly kids). In Melbourne, new research shows women, people over 55, and those in disadvantaged areas are more likely to get rejected. Plus, a local case here saw Veronica Stephan-Miller successfully challenge the NDIA’s process of making participants reprove eligibility—could this shift things for others? What do you think these changes mean for us? Anyone navigating the NDIS lately?

I think it is going to be at least another year before things truely settle. They are already making changes to the changes because of feedback like giving people 90 days instead of 21 days to get evidence. I do still think it will come positive in the end because change does need to happen. It is surviving in the mean time.

Yes that true while these adjustments aim to improve the system, it’s understandable that the transition period may present difficulties. Maintaining open communication with support networks and staying informed about policy updates can be beneficial during this time
