Hello from Emma. Navigating Alzheimer's Care with NDIS

Hi everyone, I’m Emma. I’ve joined this forum in hopes of connecting with others who are navigating the complexities of the NDIS, especially as it pertains to caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. My mom was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, and we’re at the beginning of our journey with the NDIS. We’re learning a lot as we go, especially about the importance of timely and appropriate support.

I’m here to gain insights from your experiences, share our own, and support each other through similar challenges. I’m particularly interested in learning more about managing safety concerns like wandering, and how to adapt our living environment to better support my mom’s condition.

Thank you in advance for welcoming me into this community.

Welcome to the forum, Emma! You’ve definitely come to the right place. Many of us here have been through similar situations and can offer advice based on our experiences with the NDIS.

Very sorry to hear about your mother Emma.

Dementia is a cruel disease. It would be even more devastating to get it early in life.

If you need any insights about anything NDIS related or support as a carer, never hesitate to reach out. We have a good bunch of people here who all have their own experiences and it can be very helpful to confide in an anonymous bunch of people.
